Seventh Roundtable of ASEAN-India Network of Think-Tanks (AINTT) Post Covid-19 Recovery: Regional Cooperation Agenda for ASEAN-India Partnership Session IV: Connectivity and Supply Chain Resilience

           Associate Professor Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit took part in a panel discussion on “Seventh Roundtable of ASEAN -India Network of Think-Tanks (AINTT) Post Covid-19 Recovery: Regional Cooperation Agenda for ASEAN-India Partnership Session IV: Connectivity and Supply Chain Resilience” on 12-13 May 2022. This event is organized by ASEAN -India Network of Think-Tanks (AINTT). India has been implementing several physical and digital connectivity programs with ASEAN. Managing supply chain risk in an economic downturn situation is the priority of ASEAN countries and India.

          This session has discussed the challenges and the way forward while strengthening connectivity and supply chain resilience in the post-Covid-19 period between ASEAN and India. Panelist is including Mr. Bharat Joshi, Co-Chairman, CII Institute of Logistics, Chennai, Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit, Associate Professor, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, Dr. Ch Ibohal Meitei, Professor, Manipur University, Imphal, India, Dr. Somdeth Bodhisane, Research Fellow, Institute for Industry and Commerce (IIC), Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Lao PDR.
Dr. Janya discussed the significance of Agricultural Supply Chain on ASEAN countries and impact from COVID-19 on its supply chain as a case study to illustrated how improving physical and digital connectivity can enhance Agricultural Supply Chain Resilient. The presentation concluded with an approach to redesign Agricultural Supply Chain to be more resilience as a transition towards sustainability by improving transport and digital connectivity together with promoting smart farming and supply chain visibility.

            Dr. Janya has emphasized that improving physical connectivity and digital connectivity play a vital role to enhance the agricultural supply chain resilient. However due to the complexity of Agricultural supply chain, collaboration among all stakeholder and support from government on trade facilitation and infrastructure investment appeared to be key success factor on this challenge.

GMS-BC 1st 2022 BoD Meeting

           Associate Prof. Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit, Director Center for Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chain Management took part in the 1st 2022 Board of Directors Meeting of GMS-Business Council on 20 April 2022 via video conference call from Yangon, Myanmar.

        Dr. Janya has presented the collaboration project with GMS-Freta (Thailand) and MI (Mekong Institute) on Green Freight development in GMS region. In addition to this, Dr. Janya has also introduced her research center established at Prince of Songkla University-Thailand, Center for Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chain Management, focus on academic works in green and sustainable logistics projects, and drive with a proper agenda on net-zero emission. The presentation agenda included the importance of the net-zero emission action plan, the previous projects, and the following steps to continue with GMS-FRETA.

           Dr. Janya stated that global companies are committed to emissions, the GMS region especially in the logistics and freight sector is encouraged to prepare for the pressure on the industry.

          Associate Professor Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit was invited to be a panelist to discuss, and share thought on “The Role of Women Leaders in Building Resilient Supply Chain”. Panelist are including Dr. Siti Norida Whahab , Senior Lecturer – Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, Ms. Alia Gharaibeh, Regional Director, HELP Logistics and Ms. Bouran Najem, Head of Supply Chain, World Food Program. In this panel discussion, panelist has shared their experience and suggestion how woman can play a leader role in logistics sector.

       Associate Professor Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit attended the the Sixth International Conference on Emerging Research Paradigm in Business & Social Science organized by Middlesex University, Dubai on February 24th, 2022. Dr. Chanchaichujit is also contributed to be a co-chair conference session on “Agile and Resilient Supply Chain” with Dr. Sreejith Balasubramanian. The conference session theme is very timely and interesting for researcher to share their work in related to how to manage supply chain in the most challenging time for post-covid-19.
