Seventh Roundtable of ASEAN-India Network of Think-Tanks (AINTT) Post Covid-19 Recovery: Regional Cooperation Agenda for ASEAN-India Partnership Session IV: Connectivity and Supply Chain Resilience

           Associate Professor Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit took part in a panel discussion on “Seventh Roundtable of ASEAN -India Network of Think-Tanks (AINTT) Post Covid-19 Recovery: Regional Cooperation Agenda for ASEAN-India Partnership Session IV: Connectivity and Supply Chain Resilience” on 12-13 May 2022. This event is organized by ASEAN -India Network of Think-Tanks (AINTT). India has been implementing several physical and digital connectivity programs with ASEAN. Managing supply chain risk in an economic downturn situation is the priority of ASEAN countries and India.

          This session has discussed the challenges and the way forward while strengthening connectivity and supply chain resilience in the post-Covid-19 period between ASEAN and India. Panelist is including Mr. Bharat Joshi, Co-Chairman, CII Institute of Logistics, Chennai, Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit, Associate Professor, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, Dr. Ch Ibohal Meitei, Professor, Manipur University, Imphal, India, Dr. Somdeth Bodhisane, Research Fellow, Institute for Industry and Commerce (IIC), Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Lao PDR.
Dr. Janya discussed the significance of Agricultural Supply Chain on ASEAN countries and impact from COVID-19 on its supply chain as a case study to illustrated how improving physical and digital connectivity can enhance Agricultural Supply Chain Resilient. The presentation concluded with an approach to redesign Agricultural Supply Chain to be more resilience as a transition towards sustainability by improving transport and digital connectivity together with promoting smart farming and supply chain visibility.

            Dr. Janya has emphasized that improving physical connectivity and digital connectivity play a vital role to enhance the agricultural supply chain resilient. However due to the complexity of Agricultural supply chain, collaboration among all stakeholder and support from government on trade facilitation and infrastructure investment appeared to be key success factor on this challenge.
